The Cat's Out of the Bag!
Ahh... where to begin? Creating my own brand has been a goal of mine for as long as I can remember. Since my early high school years I was obsessed with makeup gurus on Youtube. I loved watching people passionate about their niche interests, and expressing themselves through creativity. I loved the sense of community of keeping up with your favorite content creators every week, as well as reading through the comment sections to hear what other followers thought of each post. I always dreamed of one day posting about things that inspired me and made me happy. Things such as interior design, recipes, tips on hosting, and just overall lifestyle.
I soon entered college at the University of Kansas, where I received a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, as well as a Masters of Arts in Architecture. My schedule quickly filled up with long hours in Studio, as well as trying to balance a social life. Content creation was not at the forefront of my mind in those years. Besides a busy schedule, one other thing kept me from starting this passion project of mine... fear. I was afraid of what others would think. I was afraid of coming off as "cringe." I still fear that pretty much every day of my life haha! But in my twenty five years of living, I’ve come to realize that there are always going to be some people who think you're "cringe". I’ve also come to realize that what other people think of me is none of my business.
With that being said, I look forward to sharing what I love most with you guys. Do I have a perfectly laid out map of everything I plan on sharing? Nope! I’m still learning and I invite you to learn with me. However, you can definitely expect to see past and present projects I've worked on with clients, DIY projects as I become a first-time home renter, personal takes on the interior design of some of your favorite Netflix shows, a cocktail recipe or two... and everything in between. Oh and did I mention a store? You can shop Emma Pound Design in person at 127 E 3rd St. Carthage, MO 64836, as well as my online store coming soon. I hope you're excited to follow along this journey with me as I design a life I love.
xoxo
