4/17 MOOD BOARD MONDAY- All About the Texture

Welcome back to my second Mood Board Monday! Today I’m discussing a bedroom design featuring several different types of textures in an effort to elevate your space in a cost-effective way. As always, these products will be linked below. Enjoy!

First up, I selected this non-woven vinyl wallpaper in a trellis pattern. This particular wallpaper gives the illusion of a textured grasscloth material, but is much more affordable. I enjoyed this wallpaper in the coral and blue colorway, and thought this would be a great way to set the tone for the mood board. This wallpaper is available to the trade only, and can be purchased through me.

One of my favorite pairings in window treatments is a bamboo roman shade layered with a fabric curtain. I love the juxtaposition of textures. These particular shades are from Amazon and are very affordable and come in different size options.

I wanted to pull out the blue from the wallpaper, so I chose these blue curtains from Amazon. I then added in a fabric tape in a kelly green colorway to add a fun pop to an otherwise simple curtain. Simply adding fabric tape can give your curtains a very custom feel. If you pair fabric tape with more simple curtains from Amazon, you can achieve a budget friendly custom design. I’d then pair those with a gold curtain rod, for a pop of glam.

I wanted to add a more calm element to all of the colors and textures going on, so I selected this cream velvet headboard in a scalloped shape. To pull out the green element of the curtains, I selected these fun green velvet pillows. I’d recommend doing three across the bed. To finish off the bedding, I’d throw a blue lumbar pillow in front to pull out the blue in the rest of the room.

Finally, I selected this multi-colored oriental rug from Amazon to pull all the colors together. By adding in multiple different textures to a room such as bamboo, vinyl, cotton blends, velvet, and metal, you end up with more dimension and a very rich feeling. Fabric tape is another way to elevate regular curtains, pillows, etc., and makes your space feel custom without breaking the bank.
