DIY Bridal Basket
Welcome back to another blog post! It’s been a while since I’ve done a blog. Between traveling, working with clients, and two weddings within two weeks, I’ve been staying busy! With all this wedding talk, I thought I’d share with you guys how I put together a bridal basket for a wedding I was in this past weekend. While I recommend sticking to the registry for at least one of your gifts, I think it’s important to get a little creative with at least one of the other gifts for the bride. It shows some extra thought went into the gift, and the couple gets to be surprised by something they don’t already know they’re getting. This bridal basket was super easy, and fun to put together. I’ve created a one-stop shopping list so you can whip one of these up yourselves for any upcoming weddings this season. Keep reading for the links to shop!
You can’t have a bridal basket without a basket! I chose a simple water hyacinth basket. You can really tailor the type of basket to the couple’s style. For this couple I wanted to keep it classic and timeless, and be cohesive with their wedding aesthetic. These baskets are great because they double as storage in linen closets or pantries after as well. You’ll then need some basket filler paper. I went with a creamy white color to go along with the wedding theme. Lastly, you’ll want to choose a large ribbon to make a bow on the outside of the basket. I went with a blue ribbon, as that was the wedding color. Again, you can really tailor this to the couple and their wedding aesthetic.
This next basket addition was my Mom’s idea. She recommended I frame the couple’s invitation. Apparently, my parents received this as a gift when they got married from another married couple. My dad told me that the husband who gifted that to them joked that now my dad will never forget their anniversary. I chose a gold floating frame which allows the invitation to really pop. I then added two wine glasses in this sleek cylindrical style. The glasses I got the couple only came in a set of four, but I only wanted to put two in the basket. So… I may or may not have kept the other two for myself! I then threw in some cocktail napkins in a playful butterfly pattern. I chose napkins that would pull out the blue in the ribbon, as well as the colors from the wine label.
To finish out the basket I added a bottle of Pennington Peach Semi-Sweet White Wine. I wanted to elevate this basket and add some pearls to the wine bottle. These adhesive pearl sheets were an easy way to achieve this look without having to individually adhere each pearl. I then topped the bottle off with a large white ribbon.
