6/12 MOOD BOARD MONDAY- Vintage Inspired Boys Room

Welcome back to another Mood Board Monday! I’m switching things up today, and designing a kids room. Thibaut just launched some new wallpaper lines, and I’ve been inspired to design something different with this funky pattern. As always, keep reading for styling tips, and links to shop each item.

Starting off, I was inspired by this dog-patterned wallpaper in light blue. I immediately pictured this in a kids room. This wallpaper is available to the trade only, and can be ordered through me. I wanted to keep the curtains simple, so as not to compete with the wallpaper. I found these black curtain rods from Amazon, and blackout curtains to go with it.

Continuing with the black scheme, I chose this black vintage style metal headboard. I selected a basic white comforter to let the pillow be the main focus. I think this green plaid pillow is so fun.  A classic teddy bear adds in some playful elements to this bed.

I wanted to add some sconces instead of table lamps, and these gold lanterns seemed like the perfect addition. To add some warmth to this room, I selected some wooden nightstands with rattan detailing. To really give this room a vintage feel, I’d recommend stacking some Hardy Boys books on the shelves of the night stands. My dad to this day still has his collection from the 60s. Amazon has some available, but you could also find some at antique shops, garage sales, etc.

To cozy up this space, I’d recommend adding this bean bag chair. The shape and leather texture give it a more mature feel, while still being comfy. I’d throw this cream boucle lumbar pillow on top to add some softness. This area would be perfect for reading, so a black floor lamp would finish this space off nicely.
